Brain Drain
In this project we worked with cutting edge biofeedback technology for the creation of an interactive installation piece under unfamiliar conditions. The intention of the piece created was to contain participants who interacted with the environment surrounding them and the audience not only via their body but directly via an understanding of their brain activity. This was achieved with the use of "Epoc Emotiv" a cost-effective mobile EEG headset that receives brain data respective to 4 emotions: engagement, excitement, boredom and meditation. These emotions were translated with visuals that were projected on surfaces and objects. All performers were blindfolded, while exposed to various sounds, that were designed and generated by sound design students, to "manipulate" their emotions and help them transition from one state to another. In this project my role was to contribute to the creation of the visual translations of the 4 motions, document the whole process from preparation to the final presentation, post production of videos and advertisement of all presentations and events related to the project.
